Well wasn't May an exciting month!

Teaming up with Leah Tyler- Szucki Photography is a dream. I first met Leah when she took my family photos for Christmas cards. She is energetic, talented and professional, just look how cute I look with my husband and our lil pup! When Events with Jess got off the ground, she suggested we collab and I was like "HECK YA BUD!"

After we discussed about details, dates and a location, we put out a model call. Our theme was Romantic Date Night, and we asked our followers to share the cutest photo of them with their person. I had so much fun, I just love LOVE y'all! After much deliberation, we picked Stephanie and Matt, cuz they're S'CUTE!

I reached out to some of my favourite local businesses and was so glad I did as it really brought the whole picnic together! Oliver Events provided rental décor (lanterns, terrariums, candle holders) and Blue Door Florals provided two beautiful floral pieces. Hux and Oak Woodworx provided a beautiful charcuterie board and we purchased our food from Nibble and Graze.

Sadly, it was raining the day of our shoot. We were determined, but it only got windier and rainier. It was cold, the candles wouldn't stay lit, my hair was going sideways...we had to improvise! We headed to Leah's studio, and after losing our fight to the weather, we made the best of a bad situation: a comfy, cozy, warm & snacky photo shoot. The twinkle lights added a sparkle, the candles added ambiance, and Stephanie & Matt added adorableness (yes, it's a word, I Googled it). We poured a few glasses of wine, shared some laughs, and then Leah worked her magic!

Stephanie and Matt were wonderful, we chatted after about life, travel, the world we live in and everything in between.

I will say, I have never seen anyone pop a champagne cork into someone's forehead! Leah & I sincerely apologize to Stephanie for laughing like lunatics, it caught us off guard, and we hope your forehead is okay. Seriously, I could NOT stop laughing. Matt's face was just priceless! Best of all, these two finished the shoot, THAT is what I call true commitment. Moments like these can't be planned, and they are the memories that last a lifetime!

All in all, it was a beautiful night! It reminded me that life is all about simple pleasures: feta & olives, blankets & pillows, champagne & forehead kisses...it's the little things that get us through the wind and the rain. We need small celebrations, otherwise life will slip by unnoticed. The photo shoot gave me a wonderful idea for a giveaway and a summer service: luxury picnics! Head to my Instagram highlights or website to learn all about them, and how I can plan you the best picnic you've ever had, even if it rains :)
