The First Year Anniversary Post

Hard to believe a year has gone by! But time sure does fly when you’re having fun. I didn’t know it then, but this would be one of my last weddings and the year that would come would be wild!

But before that - Hanna and Jake’s wedding day! It was seriously the perfect day. From the weather, to the timeline of the day, and everything in between, it was wonderful. There’s nothing I love more than a sunset session sneak away during the reception and this sunset did not disappoint!

This wedding was near and dear as I am also friends with Hanna’s mom. I always love when I know the family and get to work with them because making it special for them makes it even more meaningful! I never want the fun to end!

The morning started early for the girls (as per usual) but Studio Haven had them all looking absolutely perfect! The wedding morning is one of my favorite parts as the excitement builds and everyone can enjoy some pampering and a mimosa! We were off in no time to the venue!

Hanna’s dress was from The Bridal Center and the bridesmaids dresses were from Azazie. While the guys day started a little later, they looked very dapper in their suits from Eph Apparel.

Hanna and Jake had their ceremony and reception at Cochrane Ranche House. This venue is truly one of the best there is. I love the space that’s available and they have absolutely wonderful hospitality, amazing views and the perfect rustic vibe.

Another part I love about events and weddings is working with other vendors! The DJ and photographer were so much fun and we definitely had a lot of smiles and laughs throughout the day. Not to mention the outstanding memories captured by Jordan and Vince with Boyd Entertainment kept the party going all night long!

There were so many beautiful, delicious, wonderful touches throughout the whole day and it was a pleasure to bring them all together!

• Above and beyond catering with An Affair to Remember. The service was top notch, the meal was delicious and dessert was also wonderful. It’s the best when the staff hired for the wedding adds to the overall enjoyment of it! Best of all worlds!

• A delicious cake made by Cake Bake Shoppe! Also with dietary restrictions which made this so special - and made for hilarious memories!

• Wood cookie rentals from The Rental Brothers

• Bouquets, bootineers and corsages from Nectare & Root

• Seating chart mirror rented and made by Kaitlyn Elizabeth Ann

Bringing the decor together is always one of my favorite parts too (so many favorites of course)! We had lots of greenery with accents of gold and wood that complimented the overall vibe at the venue. Hanna and Jake included beautiful personal touches with a memory lane of their family members that had passed and notes of appreciation to Harry Potter and Star Wars throughout!

It always comes back to the people and community for me and this crew was full of laughs, great dance moves, many smiles and lots of love! Hanna and Jake’s love story is one for the books and I wish them many, many more years of wedded bliss 🤍🤍🤍

I also mentioned that I didn’t know then this would be one of my last weddings. While it’s not goodbye forever it’s see ya later for now! I have enjoyed events and weddings so much! But this year opened my eyes to passions within teaching and my family that take more of my time. We are also over the moon as we continue to grow our family and expect to welcome not one, but two little ones this fall! It’s twins!

We are sure to have our hands busy and our hearts full. I’ve loved being apart of the events industry in Central Alberta for the past few years and I plan to be following along with all the amazing things that continue to happen in the area!
