Summer, where have you gone?! I had initially planned to do two blog posts this summer but those moments evaporated in the endless heat waves. My heart was so happy in the simple moments. The moments at dinner, visiting a friend, and getting some sense of normalcy.

Here in Alberta, we were open for business as of July Long Weekend. This was the best news ever for Michelle and Troy's big day on July 3rd. Planning the wedding was a challenge, but thankfully things came together and the happy couple celebrated their love with their favourite people in the world!

Once July 3rd came, it was a whirlwind, beautiful day. We headed to the venue for set up at 7:30 am. Tin Roof Event Center was absolutely perfect. The high ceilings and beautiful finishes are an oasis out of the city. Just a few short minutes from Lacombe, this is the best place for a local destination wedding.

We brought the tables to life with Tin Roof's white chairs, our floor length black table cloths, and a few gold accents. Mason jars with wild flowers filled the center pieces, surrounded by greenery, warm twinkle lights and gold table numbers. The head table added to the mixed metal rustic vibe with silver wine glasses and black candles.

I love a good sign-in table! I love decorating them, and since Michelle and Troy are big basketball fans, they decorated a basketball for all of their guests to sign. They also had their guests write their address on an envelope, expediting the thank you card process - a tip I always have for clients! Beside the sign in table was the seating chart and all the donuts! Yum!

The ceremony was beautiful at St. Mary's Church in Red Deer with many touching moments and readings. As the afternoon went on, the wedding party took off for photos and guests headed to Tin Roof. This wedding party looked flawless and the photos are absolutely beautiful done by Tasha Chiu Photography.

Dinner was perfect and the dance went on all night! A highlight of mine is always the speeches. I love hearing the stories, sharing the laughs and seeing the joy on everyone's faces. It is such a special time in the evening. The first dance also tugs at my heart strings every time! The sunset was perfect timing for this with that first dance glow through the beautiful windows.

Michelle is also a dear friend of mine and setting up for this day was extra special. Their love story is one for the books and I am so grateful I got to be apart of it!
